3 Majestic Forts of Rajasthan

Rajasthan is a true gem of India. The ancient state of the country has been governed by Rajputs and Jat rulers. It is well known for its royal ambience and colorful history. There is something else for which Rajasthan is well renowned and it is the majestic monuments of the state. Forts of the state are always the main attraction and something that writes on the majestic history of Rajasthan. Forts were the monument constructed to protect the regime from the invaders. Although forts were monuments of protection but on the other hand it also demonstrates the strength of the ruler. The majestic forts of Rajasthan are just the perfect demonstration of the royal regime. In order to the strength that the forts exhibits we are listing here three most important and majestic forts of the state.

Amber Fort, Jaipur: Well known for its artistic craftsmanship Amber fort which is located at the foothills of the Aravali range is one amongst the most popular forts of Rajasthan. The place is the best example of brilliant artwork at sandstone and marble stone. Deewan-e-Aam and Deewan-e-Khas are the two main attractions of the fort. Other than this there is Sukh Niwas and Sheesh Mahal that writes on the brilliancy of the fort beauty. Built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh I, the Amber Fort within its ramparts holds a rich blend of Hindu elements including several gates and cobbled paths and the Sheela Mata Temple. The fort arrests many travelers from around the world, light and sound show at the garden of fort remises and elephant ride in Amer fort will make you see and explore the true beauty of the palace.

Chittor Fort, Chiitorgarh: Being built in the 7th century, during the Maurayan period the fort is another piece of brilliant architecture of Rajasthan. The fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in India that is ramped up on a hilltop spreading over an area of 692 acre. The fort reveals the unveiling history of the Mewar rulers Sisodia. It is studded with several majestic palaces, baronial gates, intricately designed temples and two memorials. It also boasts of several step wells, paintings, and other artistic works. The fort holds an important place in the royal history of Rajasthan. The seven massive stone gates of the palace namely Padan Pol, Bhairon Pol, Hanuman Pol, Ganesh Pol, Jodia Pol, Laxman Pol and Ram Pol are the marvelous attractions. The palaces inside the fort are Rana Kumbha Mahal, Kanwar Pade Ka Mahal, Ratan Singh's Palace, Badal Mahal and the beautiful Padmini's Palace, are the must visit places of the fort premises.

Kumbhalgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh: Being built in the fifteenth century in the Aravali mountain range it is honored to be the biggest fort of India. It is a significant heritage site of India as it has a vast history of the place. The 36 kilometers long wall makes it comparable to great way of China. Hulla Pol, Hanuman Pol, Ram Pol, Bhairava Pol, Paghra Pol, Top-khana Pol and Nimboo Pol which are bolstered by watch towers and bastions are the seven main gates of the fort. Within the premises there are more than 300 temples and several palaces also including Badal Mahal the birth place of Maharana Pratap. The Shiva temple within the fort premises is another architectural artwork to witness here.

Rajasthan has many attractive things to visit and explore. The above mentioned three forts write about the true history and culture of the place. A visit to the royal state is always incomplete without visiting the three main attractions of the state.
