John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is located in the borough of Queens. To provide the smooth functioning, the flight operations at JFK are handled by six terminals and four runways.
LaGuardia
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is the smallest among the three major airports, serving NYC. Although, it still handles approximately 20 million passengers every year. On a daily basis, around 100 flights are available from BOM to LGA. The first air service on this route, scheduled at 12:50 am, is operated by Air Canada, and the last is scheduled at 11:20 pm. The shortest connecting service takes around 21 hours to reach LGA from Mumbai. A one-way ticket on the sector can be bought from INR 40000 onwards, depending on the days of booking and departure.
Newark Liberty
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is within the city limits of Newark in the state of New Jersey. In the year 2013, it handled around 35 million passengers. Daily, more than 120 flights are available from BOM to EWR. From 12:00 am to 3:00 am, the frequency of operations is high, with almost half of the total flights, taking-off in this period. Non-stop flights on this route are offered by United Airlines and Air India, taking approximately 16 hours to reach EWR.
Westchester County
In case no flights are available to the above-mentioned sites, then passengers can book tickets to Westchester County Airport (HPN). On a daily basis, around 75 services are available from BOM to HPN. After reaching here, travellers can hire a taxi and cover the distance of around 59 km to the Big Apple in about an hour. To take the shortest connecting service to HPN that takes around 26 hours, people can travel on a combination of Air India, Etihad Airways and United Airlines.
