We've all heard of the Canary Islands, though few know much about the hidden gem that is La Gomera. It's a luscious and quaint little island that has somehow managed to fly under the far-reaching radar of tourism. Though don't let that put you off, in fact it is that very reason which makes this gorgeous part of the World so special.
A Wonderfully Unique Escape
The Island of La Gomera isn't the smallest of the Canary's, though with a diameter of only 22km, it's small enough refer to as a pocket paradise. Being of volcanic origin, La Gomera offers hiking enthusiasts some of the most incredibly beautiful trails to explore.
It is an untainted Island which will afford travellers the opportunity to soak up the views absent distraction. As wonderful as the drunken hordes of Tenerife are, wouldn't you rather have the blue skies and the sunshine all to yourself?
Off the Beaten Track
La Gomera isn't your average Island, and so getting there does require a little extra effort. You'll need to grab an independent chartered flight, as opposed to a direct commercial airline route, so don't bother wish EasyJet if you're looking for directions.
But again, don't let that put you off. That is one of the main reasons why La Gomera has been left relatively unchanged – because everything that is good and beautiful in this world is earned, not gifted. And boy is La Gomera worth the effort! Do you want to enjoy just another typical holiday this year? Or would you like to experience something truly magnificent? Something that few people have had the pleasure of experiencing?
La Gomera Boasts Stunning Scenery
Whether it's the tropical palms that interest you, the mysterious black sands of Valle Gran Rey, or La Gomera's trademark Lava Stone setting; there's no denying the raw beauty that shrouds this Island. And I know that 'shroud' was an odd choice of word, though when you witness this marvellous Island for yourself; it will make perfect sense.
Plenty of Gorgeous Accommodation
If you're tired of staying in your average all-inclusive hotels, then you'll be pleased to learn that La Gomera has a wealth of gorgeous apartments and other accommodation to chose from. You can be relatively self-sufficient and enjoy the privacy that any decent holiday should allow.
For some, staying in a hotel full of drunken tourists and screaming children isn't an issue, but if you're like me, then you'll want more for yourself. Treat yourself to a holiday that you won't forget in a hurry. Immerse yourself in a World that time forgot, and explore a small slither of paradise that few will ever have the pleasure of experiencing.
