5 Best Things To Do At Night In Delhi

The city of New Delhi offers more than stunning monuments and a warm climate. There is always something exciting to do in Delhi no matter what hour of the day it is. While most people prefer sight-seeing during the day, it is also an incredible experience to visit some of the popular attractions in Delhi during night. Here are some of the best places to visit in Delhi at night for those who want to experience Delhi, the inimitable way.

  1. India Gate: The iconic war memorial in many ways has come to be the symbol of Delhi. While an early morning walk from the Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate (Rajpath) is serene, India Gate is breathtakingly beautiful at night. The lighting is spectacular and a late night visit is a must. Located close to the historic India Gate, Pandara Road is up until 3 a.m. A post-midnight outing to binge at, Pandara Road is a must-visit.
  2. 1911 BAR: The 1911 Bar celebrates the historic breakthrough that led to the emergence of New Delhi as a seat of power. Soft Montana leather chairs, period portraiture, stained glass roof and wood panelling add an element of high gloss to the legendary bar located in the premises of The Imperial, New Delhi – the finest 5 star hotel in New Delhi. Over 500 different kinds of drinks are on offer and VIP guests are at liberty to access the two stunning private rooms: the 'Hardinge' and 'Lutyens & Baker'.
  3. Chandni Chowk: From Sisganj Gurudwara to Sunahri Masjid to Paranthey Wali Gali, it is one of the most vibrant explorations of night-life in Delhi. You can experience the magic of Old Delhi at night on a walking tour with a local guide. While you walk through you can experience the unique amalgamation of commerce, heritage and layers of history from across the centuries. At night the magic of Chandni Chowk (which literally means moonlit square) is an overwhelming experience.
  4. Murthal: Just 50 kms drive from Delhi; Murthal offers adventure and food, a couple of drinks too. The locality is popular for cheap food, clean open-air dhabas- Sukhdev, Vaishnov, Gulshan Dhaba to name a few. Interestingly, all dhabas here are open all night and are closed from 5 a.m. to 8.00 a.m.
  5. Patiala Peg: Patiala Peg stands among the most popular bars in Delhi. Living up to its name, the bar indicates a larger measure of 75 ml pegs instead of the usual 60 ml ones. Located at The Imperial hotel, Connaught Place the Bar commemorates a thrilling tent pegging encounter that occurred in the early 1900s between the team of the Maharaja of Patiala and the Viceroy's team and thus exhibits a remarkable collection of photographs of the Maharaja during the Second World War. Started in 1936, Patiala Peg at The Imperial, Delhi is a bar that is older than India.
