6 Best Beaches in Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the most romantic and picturesque Greek Island. Santorini is world-famous for its stunning views of the volcano and romantic sunsets. Its stunning sunsets and volcanic-sand beaches are undoubtedly on everyone traveller’s list.

1. Red Beach

The red beach is one of the most famous and beautiful seasides on Santorini. The unique colour of the sand and the breath-taking volcanic landscape make this beach an attractive destination for thousands of tourists. The beach is pebbly, though its rock formations make it perfect for snorkelling.

Perissa Beach

Perissa Beach attracts travellers with its stunning shades of black. It is perfect for snorkelling and has many options for water-sport activities. The unique Perissa village offers an extensive variety of restaurants and bars. Its close proximity to the ruins of ancient Thira makes it a magnet for tourists.

Amoundi Bay is an old fishing port that can be reached from Oia by walking 300 steps. Wonderfully decorated bars by the sea offer a great number of traditional eateries to choose from. Amoundi Bay also has an intimate beach, a spot of tranquillity to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday resorts.

4. Kamari Beach

Kamari Beach

Kamari is a famous seaside on Fira, the capital of the Santorini. It is covered in black sand while on the left side of the beach is an enormous rock called Mesa Vouno that rises from the sea. The path along the beach is a fun and relaxing place to visit in the evening. Kamari has a very ‘fun’ vibe and is one of the most family-friendly towns on Santorini.

5. Perivolos Beach

The scenic seaside of Perivolos is close to Perissa beach. On the beach, there are numerous bars, pubs and restaurants serving fresh fish and local delicacies.

6. Cape Columbo

Cape Columbo is surrounded by black and white rock. It is the most sequestered and calm seashore in the Santorini. The enormous red cliffs offer enough shade. The beach is situated near a crater on the island so the water is heated by thermal activity. There is a long strip of dark sand which becomes thinner as the cliff rises up behind it.
