Thinking About Living in a London Apartment for the Weekend?

London short let apartments are quickly gaining popularity among London guests visiting the wonderful UK capital city for business or leisure, looking for an alternative to the usual hotel. The idea of a London weekend apartment does hold some glamour for some and the advantages are completely relevant. A guest would be able to live in London as if he were truly a local resident with an apartment fully-equipped with home essentials like a bedroom, kitchen, dining room and laundry areas. Being serviced apartments, though, these accommodations would still offer services that are present in hotels like a concierge, reception and housekeeping. There is also an array of holiday apartments to choose from depending on a guest's budget, space and living needs. Serviced apartments are also rated with stars, just like hotels are, so a guest can choose his best match. The lack of luxury services would also mean cutting down on costs usually associated with living in a hotel.

But, aside from these wonderful advantages of living in a London weekend apartment, they also pose several disadvantages. Housekeeping services would not be as regular as in a hotel. Housekeeping might only be limited to once a week, and that is just not acceptable for some guests. In a hotel, housekeeping would occur everyday, or even several times in a day. The lack of room service might also be a downside for some people. If you need to eat, you would have to cook your own meals, which means having to do the groceries or you would have to go down from your apartment and find a nearby diner or restaurant where you can eat. Compared to a hotel, you cannot simply call and order from the menu and have your food delivered straight to your room. Furthermore, London short let apartments usually have a laundry area with a washing machine and dryer. So, guests are able to do their own laundry. However, some people would find this to be a bit of a chore compared to having a hotel laundry service simply pick up their laundry and deliver the fresh clothes back to their room. Other disadvantages of a London short let apartment would be lower security facilities and a lack of parking space for guests with vehicles.

In essence, what a London weekend apartment lacks is that special treatment which hotels give their guests-may they be a high-profile businessman, a young couple on their honeymoon or a teenage back-packing across Europe. A London short let apartment could possibly make you feel at home, but in the wrong ways. And for some people whose trip would be very busy or perhaps they are on a well-deserved holiday getaway, having to make a home would not be very appealing.
