Mehrangarh Fort – On the belt of rocks that are as high as 120 m from the skyline of Jodhpur is perched the majestic Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur. The parapets on the walls of the fort are as high as 36 m. The whole fort is strongly built from rocks and the Jodhpur royal family still resides in one of its parts. There is a museum inside the fort which acquaints you with the historical details of the fort and the city. Inside the fort, there is even a beautiful garden that was built in 18th century and is known as Chokelao Bagh. The palace inside the fort is an example of the magnificent Rajput architecture. Jaswant Thada – It is a memorial of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and built in marble. This cenotaph has portraits of Rathore rulers even from 13th century and was built in 1899. There is a beautiful memorial built of a peacock who accidentally flew into a funeral pyre.
Clock Tower – It is the landmark structure of the old architecture of this city. It is more than 100 years old and situated in the Sardar market. You can escape into the winding lanes surrounding to explore the local bazaars to which they exit.
Sardar Government Museum – If you wish to know more about the past of Jodhpur, this is another place to visit in Jodhpur. It is inside the Umaid Garden park. It has sculptures dating back to 6-10th century. There is a zoo as well, alongside.
