Some people might have the opinion that Bangkok is not really a city that is suitable for a family holiday as it is extremely busy, quite dirty and polluted and in certain places/many places, is more focused on accommodating adult activities rather than catering for family outings and experiences. Although all these statements to have some truth to them, I would still stand firm to my view on the subject, being someone who would highly recommend Bangkok as a great place to visit with the entire family. You just need to know your way around the city and probably it helps that I have been living in Bangkok for almost a decade and so have had the opportunity to see and do many different things that the bustling metropolis has to offer. It certainly is a City that is great as an 'adult playground' but at the same time it certainly has not neglected the younger generations, with there being an abundance of locations, experiences and events that are happening throughout the city in multiple location all the time, the entire 12 months of the year.
You could argue that the pollution and traffic is not children friendly and I would not try and argue against that, but you just need to take precautions and spend a little time planning your days so that you circumnavigate the worst affected areas of Bangkok during their peak times of road and people traffic. Other people might argue that the seedy nightlife is also an element of Bangkok that is not suitable for children and so making this part of their reasoning for why this great city is not a place to visit with the Family. My answer to this would be that I nor I would expect my friends would take their children to any of these so called seedy places and actually the Children would be back in their hotel rooms at a suitable time of night, so avoiding the most part of the night for when things might get a bit too 'adult' for the little cretins. There are so many great places that you can take your children during the day, places that will have them exhausted by the late afternoon, so they will not be leaving their beds, let alone their hotel rooms, or hotels for that matter.
The main thing that I think can be tricky when visiting Bangkok with the family, is finding an ideal location/accommodation for where you can enjoy spending some quality time together; if you get separate hotel rooms then you never end up spending much time with each other and you can find yourselves getting to the end of the holiday without really getting the opportunity to properly catch up in the way you wanted to – the main reason for the holiday. So it would be best to find a place that you could all stay together, however for the holiday to still be a hit with everyone, the accommodation needs to be not too far out of the city. Finding a place like I am describing could really hurt the bank though and perhaps be a little too expensive for many of you, but you needn't worry because I have just the perfect suggestion for you and the family to take a look at, and it is priced so reasonably, it almost comes across as being too good to be true, but it is true! The place I am referring to is a 4 star luxury hotel, with a secondary building opposite which houses the various suites that can extremely comfortably cater for families, or groups of 5 persons. The suites have been designed with convenience and comfort in mind and each contain the latest in entertainments systems. The bathrooms are large and luxurious and then the service you will receive from the happy hotel staff is outstandingly excellent. To top it off this hotel & suites named Amaranta Hotel & Suites provide on-site facilities that cater for everyone – two roof top swimming pools, two roof top bars, a fitness center, two fusion food restaurants and a French styled bakery. The surrounding area is also great, with many things to see and do to keep the entire family happy.
So, if you have been considering spending some holiday time with the family in Bangkok then go for it and book your suite at the Amaranta Hotel & Suites. You can thank me after – I know you will!
