Apartments in Gurgaon are the most preferred choice of living or accommodation for the Gurgaon residents and home seekers.. Right from the very beginning, Gurgaon, has witnessed the distinctive change in perception and planning towards the apartment culture, as Developers like DLF, Ansal & Unitech initiated the development of apartments like Silver Oaks, Beverely Park, Heritage City, Ivory Court, Sushant Apartments etc., to attract the apartment seekers to Gurgaon, as the city just started its urban planning and profiling out of the crowd and hustle-bustle of South Delhi, West Delhi region to a very much serene & quite urban living of Gurgaon.

Gradually, few more developers entered the fray and took the task of development of apartments with more modern and stylish outlook. Mainly Mehrauli Gurgaon Road was dotted all along with apartments like Essel Towers, Heritage City, Beverly Park, but gradually the concept of luxury living, with apartments made by ITC namely 'The Laburnum', 'The Ambience Island' on NH-8, as well as the concept of budget as well as modern apartments by DLF, like 'The Princeton', 'The Carlton', 'The Wellington Estate', on Golf Course Road, and in DLF Phase IV, 'The Ridgewood Estate', 'The Richmond Estate', 'The Hamilton Court', 'The Windsor Court', 'The Oakwood Estate' in DLF Phase II came up by 2001 till 2003. At the same time Unitech launched its 'The Palm' in South City I, Ansal its 'Sushant Estate' in Sector 51, with numerous cooperative group housing societies in Sector 54, 55, 31 like Jalwayu Vihar, Jalwayu Towers, Rail Vihar, Kendriya Vihar, HEWO, HOPE , etc., societies along with Ardee City's 'The Palm Grove'.

On Sohna Road only 'Malibu Towne' by Rajdoot Paints was there in 1998, and subsequently Singleton Floors of Unitech in Sector 49, Sohna Road was launched in 2001 with few more emerging township like South End, Rosewood City started the concept of independent floors in low rise segment for budget living. Sohna Road, started developing into bigger townships and planned living space and gradually, Vatika Group, Bestech, Vipul, Central Park, Ashiana, Eldeco emerged as second generation of developers promising apartments with designer parks and clubs inside the high security gated community living with dedicated parking space in basements, which we can name as second generation apartments gurgaon more towards Sohna Road in year 2003. The concept of original booking came into fashion and speculators or investors started building up portfolios into apartments with easy access to home loan at below 7% rate of interest.

This way with lending institutions, developers and real estate agents aligned to capture more and more capital into urbanization and growth of apartments culture in Gurgaon, a lot of corporate, executives, service class professionals started booking apartments and the developers came out with luxury apartments like 'The Aralias', 'Magnolia' in Golf Link, 'The Icon', 'The Pinnacle', 'The Westened Heights', 'The Trinity' in DLF Phase V were launched by DLF with Unitech coming with sprawling township, like The Nirvana Country having mix of Villas and Apartments like 'North Close', 'South Close', 'The Fresco', 'The Harmony', 'The Escape', 'The Uniworld Garden' on Sohna Road, 'The Uniworld City' in South City I, with highend apartments like 'The World Spa' in South City I, simultaneously Raheja Developers launched its Atlantis on NH-8 in Sector 31, the Bestech launched its 'Park View City I', 'Park View City II', 'Park View Spa', on Sohna Road, and 'Park View Residency' in Palam Vihar, Vatika Group came up with its first residential apartments on Sohna Road, namely, 'The Vatika City', which made Sohna Road as the preferred destination for builders like, Vipul came up with 'Vipul Greens', 'Tatvam Villas', 'Vipul Petals', Parsvanath with 'The Green Ville', Omaxe with 'the Nile'. The growth Story of Sohna Road & Golf Course Road is more or less contemporary.

Post 2008, Gurgaon entered into the third generation of apartments culture, with much taller, greener apartments projects started emerging in new sectors located all along the new road named as Golf Course Extension Road, joining the Golf Course and Sohna Road, with developers like IREO, M3M, started coming up with 52 storey apartments like Victory Valley in Sector 67, Emaar MGF with Parm Drive, Pioneer Park by Pioneer Urban, M3M with Golf Estate with high end specification and space management. So we have seen Gurgaon unfolding with fascinating and beautiful apartments projects post 2009 along with affordable apartments by Unitech like the Unitech Residency, Uniworld Garden II, Vistas, Sunbreeze, etc. Now Gurgaon urban area has been extended till Manesar, Dwarka and Kadarpur with mushrooming growth of apartment projects and developers changing the landscape and skyline of Gurgaon City, vis-a-viz the crumbling infrastructure & poor city transport facilities, sewerage and electricity supply mainly dependent on captive power source like generators, with only relief for daily commuters that the Metro Rail got connected with Delhi. The stark reality which mostly troubled the middle class and migrating population of Gurgaon, is the fast appreciating capital value of apartments in Gurgaon, which added to the woes of buyers is the cost of purchase which as on September 2010 is between INR 35 Lac to 21 Crore.
