The spectacular tourist destination

The Orange Blossom Coast, or Costa del Azahar, occupies the beautiful province of Castellon; it patiently waits for its visitors with 115 kilometers of golden, delicate beaches, natural parks and rugged mountain backdrops that you will adore. Denia and Gandia are its two most famous resorts, but there is much more about Costa del Azahar than just this: it is a land of contrasts, with many traditional villages, unspoilt beaches and crystal clear waters. It also has a series of colored and joyful festivals, such as the Vinaros in February or the San Juan fiestas that start on the 24th of June.

The main resorts

Costa del Azahar has a few resorts that deserve your attention; one of them is Calig, a resort that patiently waits for its visitors with the typical, tranquil air of a Spanish village where the modern and the traditional seem to live perfectly together. Calig also has an active nightlife, so the young can choose it without having the fear that they will get bored; the fiesta held in August is a good time to visit the village, as it will offer you a state of well being with all its colors, its good music and drinking and the delicious cuisine. Peniscola is another great option for those who want to spend a few days on the Costa del Azahar. This resort is actually a historical city that will impress you with its medieval heritage when it comes to monuments and their architectural styles. As it lies on the banks of the Xuqer River and it is guarded by the Zorros mountain range, you will be amazed by the beauty of the landscapes that surround it. Javea is probably the most famous resort and at the same time, the most popular one that you will find along this coast. It has splendid beaches and its three parts will offer you architectural styles, a little bit of history, lots of traditions and customs and a wide range of picturesque views that you will absolutely love: I am talking about the port, the Old Town and about the fantastic Playa de Arenal, its main beach. Last but not the least comes Oropesa, with several wonderful beaches and a few natural coves that remained unspoilt by the hand of man. You have to visit this area in Spain: it is one where I am sure that you will have a memorable holiday!
