Stroll the city streets and you will pass impressive museums and street murals, all showcasing Bogota's dynamic arts scene. Alternatively just moments from the city, you could find yourself taking a hike through lush green mountains.

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires has something for everyone. Here you can take tango lessons like a pro, roam some of the best galleries on the continent , sip local wines in back street bars, and join street parties that go on till dawn. At the weekend, mix with the locals at the incredible Feria de San Telmo market, and taste local produce, shop for antiques and catch a live street performance.

Lima

Head to Lima, the capital of Peru, and you will find an incredible food and arts scene and a gastronomic hub in South America, where you can sample ceviche in hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and drink pisco sours in smart new cocktail bars. And why not dine in one of the world's best restaurants, Central, to make your tour of Lima complete?

Caracas

Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, is a gateway to some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in South America. Here you can plan a hike up the Andes, go on dramatic jungle treks and go island hopping across the Caribbean Sea. Just 100 miles north of Caracas you will find Los Roques National Park, an archipelago of 300 islands with amazing coral reefs.

Panama City

In Panama City you can mingle among foreign investors in gleaming rooftop bars, and marvel at a modern skyline that is in an almost constant state of expansion. Or, head to Panama Viejo or Old Panama, which has been awarded World Heritage status, and admire old colonial buildings, crumbling cathedrals and striking monuments.

Quito

Surrounded by the Andes Mountains and snow-capped volcanoes, Quito, Ecuador's capital city, is the highest capital city in the world. Uniquely, Quito is one of the first cities in the world to be awarded UNESCO World Heritage status, owing to its incredible range of museums, monuments and heritage properties, like the ornate Iglesia de la Compania de Jesus.
