A Trip to The Balearic Islands

The beautiful Majorca

The Balearic Islands represent one of the most stunning tourist destinations in Spain; they are visited by millions of people every year, people who come to Spain attracted by their beauty, the sun and their beaches and by the fact that they are easy to reach as they are very close to the spectacular regions of Valencia and Cataluna. Out of the four Balearic Islands, Majorca is the most popular and also the largest; there is no wonder that Palma de Mallorca is not only the capital city of Majorca but also the capital of the islands. When you go there, you have to take a tour of the island and I assure you that you will fall in love with the stunning views dominated by tropical vegetation; you will also be charmed by the fertile islands where the locals grow lemons, oranges and olives. However, these are not the only attractions of Majorca: you should also visit its historical centre which will impress you with its narrow and cobbled streets, the old port and the Gothic Cathedral that dates back to the 14th century. You should also try the restaurants because the food served in Majorca will nourish your senses.

Visiting Menorca

Menorca is one of those islands where you go to relax on a sandy beach, enjoying the warm sun and the shallow, crystal clear waters. Menorca attracts tourists with its rocky northern coast and with its small, traditional fishing villages where tourists can go if they want to see some of the oldest traditions and customs of the Spaniards. Menorca is really a beautiful island and the perfect place for the type of tourist who just wants to lie in the sun, doing nothing but recharging his or her batteries.

The joyous Ibiza

Ibiza is world renowned for its parties and its nightlife. It began to be very active during the 1960s and is the type of island for those who are young and want to party. Ibiza, out of the all Balearic Islands, stays the closest to the mainland, so it is very easy to access from Denia or from Alicante by ferry. However, you should keep one thing in mind: it does not mean that if you are not young and looking for a mad party, there is nothing for you to do in Ibiza because the island also has a more peaceful part where any type of tourist can have a wonderful time.
