Mussoorie is one of the nearest and prettiest hill stations around Delhi and one of the most popular weekend getaway from Delhi. From waterfalls and ropeways to busting local market and steaming momos, it has it all, making it a classic Indian hill station. And the drive from Delhi to Mussoorie , especially the last stretch after Dehradun Is breath-taking
For those tired with monotonous work all round the week with no possibility of a break, Scoutmytrip offers weekend road trip from Delhi to Mussoorie. Mussoorie is an absolute delight verdant environment, scenic views, waterfalls is a perfect relaxing weekend getaway from the city bustle. When you make a plan for a trip especially after a long time then it is really hard to wait for the moment. Another reason for my excitement was that is was a girls trip. A childhood chuddy buddies reunion trip. We were four of us and were equally thrilled. All the lists were made, eatables arranged, shopping list done and bags packed
After counting of days, the day had come we all gathered at my place at 5:00 a.m. It was too dark outside. We loaded our bags in the car and started our weekend road trip planned by our vacation trip planner Scoutmytrip. Early morning helps as the traffic is mostly minimal and we drove smoothly. The condition of road along N-H 58 isn't that good so our speed slowed down. It took us three an a half hours to reach Roorkee. The drive was a bit daunting but the dhabas and the food stops on the way are worth the trouble. Absorbing the scenic beauty and nature on our way we were heading towards Dehradun. On the way you must stop at Kempty falls, it is a fascinating waterfall . It offers a remarkable view as the water dropping from a height of about 500 feet flowing through five cascading falls in the downstream. We also visited “Happy Valley”. The name given to the valley as it has many peaceful temples situated in bush green surrounding. There is this road called “Camel Back Road” as it has a shape like that of a camel hump. It has an ancient hawa ghar where people sit and view mighty peaks.
We were hungry by then and wanted to grab something to eat so we went to “Mall road “it's the most happening place of the town. It has food joints , game zone, shopping markets etc, in short everything we were looking for.
It was dusk already and the sun had painted the sky reddish orange. And we decided to go to “Lal Tebba” the highest point in Mussoorie which offers a fantastic view of sunrise and sunset. We were all tired and needed some rest. So we called it a day. Next day we did a lot of adventurous activities like paragliding, rock climbing, river crossing etc, which were all included in our package.
Around 3 pm in the afternoon we had to leave for Delhi. We had a great time at this weekend road trip and came back loaded with lots of memories. Every single penny we paid to our vacation trip planner was worth it.
