Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living In A Condo

Condominiums have become a very popular type of housing in the Philippines, particularly because of the its modern benefits in which many Filipinos are looking for. So what are these benefits which gave condominiums a lot of popular in today’s modern trends?

Advantages of condominiums
There are a lot of advantage of living in a condominium. One popular advantage of most condominiums today is its location.

Location
Most condominiums are found in business and commercial districts. Because of its location, residents are given the luxury of living within walking distance or mass transit distance from their workplaces. This is one factor why condominiums have become a very popular type of modern housing in the Philippines, particularly among many Filipinos living in a fast-paced lifestyle.

Maintainability
Another reason why the many condo in Philippines became a popular modern housing among many Filipinos is because of its maintainability. Condominiums hire their own maintenance personnel to maintain all facilities found in the condominium from hallways to elevators.

Security
Condominiums mostly have their own security personnel which assures the safety of all residents in their condominium.

Amenities
Another great advantage of many condo in Philippines are its amenities such as swimming pools, gyms, sports complexes, recreational parks, and playgrounds. However, most of these amenities are found in condominium complexes, a new type of condominiums in the Philippines which are mostly found in the outskirts. Although many of these types of condo in Philippines are also found in small footprints in the city.

Disadvantages of condominiums
There are, however, several disadvantages to living in a condominium. One is its condo fees.

Condo fees
These fees are separate from bills paid in electric and water bills. These fees are mostly used for the maintenance of the condominium as well as wages for their maintenance personnel as well as security personnel.

Restriction
There are rules and regulations in which residents should always follow. Although some are reasonable, others may be too restrictive such as not allowing children within their compound or requiring a limited number of occupants per unit.

Expensiveness
Condominiums are too expensive for the majority of Filipinos. This is the reason why many Filipinos believe that condominiums are houses for the wealthy.
