An Eye on London – What you Should Not Miss in London During Your Vacation?

With a population of 7.3 million residents speaking around 300 different languages, London emerges as the world's most multi-cultural and diverse city. London also acts as a hub for international travel, with flights to London and from London keeping its five airports on a busy schedule. London is also connected to Europe via the Eurostar train links.

From the Big Ben to Buckingham Palace to the Tower Bridge to its latest famous landmark – the London Eye, just a mention of any of these names and the connection will be made to London. Theatres, pubs, museums, parks, heritage sites and buildings all help to add character and glamour to City. London is divided into several districts. Mayfair, St. James and Piccadilly are located between Trafalgar Square and Buckingham. Kensington, Chelsea and Knightsbridge have now been converted into upmarket residential areas where the wealthy reside. Westminster and Bank side showcase the River Thames with bridges crossing the northern and southern banks. For a totally different scene one can visit Covent Garden, Soho and Bloomsbury. These areas are located in the northeast and are popular for bargain shopping. Chinatown is also located in this area. Checking out flights to London one can devise a program to see and experience all the above sights.

Now toted as the world's finance centre, London has overtaken New York as the global heart of financial services and capital flows. Whether you are a tourist or resident, moving around the City is very easy. With the most sophisticated public transport system, the underground network, regular bus and train services help people to move around the city on a cost effective basis and with little or no tension. As a new 'green' way of moving around, some people have taken to using cycles. There is literally something for everyone to enjoy and take part in. Theatre lovers get to enjoy the plays and musicals; musicians and artists get to visit the many museums and galleries. Those interested in sports too have much to look forward to – one being the annual Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. Nightlife like in all other big cities in the world is vibrant and exciting – one can literally dance the night away. But you need to discover all that London has to offer yourself. This can be done by going online, checking out flights to London and making that all important plan to visit the world's most diverse city.
