Athens – Explore, Discover And Live

Athens is Greece's capital and largest city, with a population of approximately 1 million. Named for its goddess Athena, the historic city of Athens is famous for its wealth of classical temples and museums, filled with ancient art and artefacts. Athens is also home to an important biblical site, numerous celebrated Greek Orthodox churches, and several modern religious sites.
The modern side of Athens is a city that focuses on fun, with vibrant districts such as Omonia, Monastiraki and Thissio offering the visitor much of dining, entertainment and nightlife. Planning your Athens activities and sightseeing trip, you will find lots of things to see and do.
Acropolis tours are always a must-see for every visitor. Acropolis: an elevated rock with a flat top with architectural marvels from the classical period such as the Parthenon, the Erectheion, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea. The Parthenon is a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. The Erechtheion, meanwhile, is dedicated to the Greek hero Erechtheus.
Continue your Athens tour visiting Monastiraki, which is one of the most touristic places in Athens that is a favorite place among locals and tourists. A real highlight is the Plaka flea market, which is located along Ifaistou Street. Every Sunday morning, a bazaar of sorts is held at the western corner of the same street.
Want to be impressed in a different way rather than sightseeing and monuments? You can take a walk at the Flisvos Marina also which is the most recognizable yacht parking. There are more than 200 luxury boats at the marina, and by the seaside are many restaurants, cafes and shops. You can have an Athens walking tour along the waterfront unleashing your inner child at one of biggest playgrounds in the Balkans.
