Booking Flight Tickets? Try This

Flight booking

When you’re taking a trip, for business or leisure, a major portion of your budget is dedicated to your flight tickets. Spending a great deal for a few hours of travel often makes us think twice and research thrice for the cheapest and most comfortable seats. Going through several websites can get you a cheaper deal but maybe not the cheapest. There are a few tricks of this trade that most people have to learn from experience, but we’ve put them together for you to have a convenient flight booking and flying experience. Read on and find out!

Flight Booking Tips

  • Look for one seat at a time

Most airlines sell different fare classes at varied prices, with a few seats in each class. When you surf the site for 3 or 4 tickets at once and there is only one low fare seat left in you class, the website will show you the highest priced seat. Therefore, even if travelling in a group, you should book single seats and reduce the overall cost of air travel for the whole group. If you are worried about not finding a seat next to your companions, you can lock your cheap fare and when selecting a seat, choose the one adjacent to an empty seat. And then, immediately book another ticket so that you have the option of choosing the adjacent seat as well.

  • Search for two one-way flights instead of return tickets

It is a common misconception that booking a return ticket with the same airline gets you the cheapest deal. Many airlines offer discounts on return flight bookings, but you can always compare those with one-way tickets and find a better price. But do check the dates, airports and places carefully to make sure you aren’t arriving and departing in and from different cities.

  • Look out for upgrades

Besides getting low fares, comfort is what one expects from a good flying experience. If you are tempted to pay less and get more out of your booking, see what your can do to get a class upgrade to fill in seats that free up at the last minute. Often elite fliers are upgraded to first class and that frees their seats in premium economy, this results in a wave of upgrades every 24 to 48 hours. To take advantage of this pattern, check the airline’s website a few days before flying.

When you’re spending flight tickets, saving even a few hundred bucks makes a difference, especially when traveling domestically. Use these tips to save and see how satisfying it is to know you got the best deal possible.
