Four brand-new and exciting attractions are opening this summer at Xscape, the largest entertainment centre in Castleford. The centre is known for its impressive indoor snow slope. This, as well as its other activities and wide selection of restaurants, make it a favourite among families looking for things to do Yorkshire on a fun family day out. With new attractions this summer, you won’t struggle with where to go in Yorkshire for a great family trip over the holidays.
The first new activity is named Gravity Rocks. This attraction is brought to you by the same people who opened Gravity Trampoline Parks, one of the most popular trampoline companies in the country. Gravity Rocks involves 14 themed, urban climbing walls which have obtuse obstacles, challenging dares, twisting trails and intense inclines. If your family loves adventure and the great outdoors, this is one of the most thrilling activities for kids Yorkshire in the area.
As well as Gravity Rocks, there’s a second Gravity escapade to embark on: Gravity Aerial Adventures. If your favourite things to do Yorkshire are a little out of the ordinary, this one’s for you. It’s the only attraction of its type in the county, and involves an indoor sky coaster suspended 70 feet above the ground, as well as two challenges. The challenges are Free Fall, which involves jumping from a high tower before being caught by your harness, and Leap of Faith, which requires you to launch yourself through the air and attempt to cling to a huge, suspended stuffed bag. Finding where to go in Yorkshire with energetic, adventure-loving kids has never been easier.
A completely different attraction to the Gravity offerings is Immotion VR. This one is a great option for activities for kids Yorkshire, but also fabulous fun for adults too. The centre allows visitors to immerse themselves in a whole other world, traveling to the boundaries of human experience. They have bespoke simulators which combine vibrant colours and sharp sounds with amazingly realistic 360 visuals to help you escape the everyday and enjoy a truly unique activity. For those hoping to try things to do Yorkshire that are completely new and exciting, this attraction is a brilliant choice.
Finally, the centre is welcoming a new and stimulating escape room attraction called The Escapologist. There are two separate rooms to try and solve, and they’re both snow-themed, which is fitting as the attraction is based within Snozone. The two rooms are named Frozen in Time and Secret Service, and they are suitable for kids’ or teens’ parties, hen/stag parties and staff team building events. The dilemma of where to go in Yorkshire is easy to decipher if you love a riddle, as well as working under pressure as you race against the clock to solve the mysteries of the rooms.
These fresh and contemporary attractions provide families and groups of friends alike with the most interesting and memorable things to do Yorkshire. With plenty of summer still ahead of us, why not try something different and explore these fantastic new attractions?
