The Caribbean are a region of the Americas, which include all countries bordering the Caribbean Sea, that is all the islands of the Antilles and the coasts of some continental countries of Central and South America, that bordered on this sea. The Caribbean area consists of the myriad of islands that separate the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea. The islands are divided into archipelagos, themselves included into larger groups: the Greater Antilles of which Cuba is the largest island; the Lesser Antilles and the Bahama islands, made of coral nature, to the northeast of the Greater Antilles. The Antilles are almost all of volcanic origin, only some of the smaller islands are of coral origin. An important economic contribution is represented by the international tourism thanks to the presence of beaches along the coast with good hospitality and warm tropical climate.
