Checklist For Choosing a Vacation Rental in France

Going to France for a holiday? One of the first things you should do is find the right accommodation that will suit your budget and needs. Vacation rentals may be a great option if you are looking for a convenient place to stay that will provide the comforts of home and the best value for your money. While not all rental properties are the same, some are able to stand out and provide the best experience to discerning holidaymakers. Consider this checklist for choosing a vacation rental in France to make sure that you can book the right property at the right price:

• Take note of your needs – Are you alone or are you traveling with someone? How many people are going with you? Are there kids? What about an elderly person? How much are you willing to spend on accommodation? Where are you going? What amenities must be nearby? These are just some of the factors that may affect your decision when choosing a vacation rental in France.

• Find a good vacation rental aggregator website – You might find an independent provider online, but for your safety, consider booking through a reputable aggregator website or rental source that has an excellent track record in what they do. You could reduce your risk of falling for scams and surprise rental fees, too, and you can be more confident in your choice to rent a particular vacation property.

• Understand the booking process – You can either book instantly if your trip is near, or go for a regular booking service. Instant booking shows all the properties that are available at the time, so you can book one immediately. If you are planning ahead, regular booking makes sense. This time, vacation rentals that are available on your specified dates will be shown.

• Consider reverse bidding – Some vacation rental aggregator websites offer reverse bidding, a booking process that lets property owners bid on your baseline price. Set the location and price range against the filters you want, pick two to 10 properties, and the system will pick a property to base the final price on. You pay for the final price before the bidding begins, and a host has 12 hours to agree, or other property owners will be allowed to bid. You get a refund if nobody takes your offer.
