City of Huesca

In the fertile area of ??Huesca Hoya is the protagonist of a history of more than two thousand years. El Coso, limit of the ancient medieval walls, defines an interesting urban network which is crowned by the Cathedral.

Jaca is known as “the pearl of the Pyrenees.” It is a cosmopolitan European city.

The Cathedral of Huesca, Located in the old center, was built of catedralee between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
The church of San Petro, the Elder, is one of the oldest churches in Spain. It was founded as a Benedictine monastery in the eleventh century. The main door is from the Romanesque style.

The Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park have large peaks and slices, with Pico de Monte Perdido (3.335 m), being the highest peak.

The National Park of Posets-Maladeta is a mountainous area north of the Pyrenees-Este and is among the highest peaks of the Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the representatives of the high Pyrenees and it houses a great diversity in terms of nature, passage and ecosystems.

The National Park of Sierra de Guara y Canyons: Between the Pyrenees and the Ebro valley, the Sierra de Guara y Canyons is the boundary between two climatic zones. It is known for dry vegetation in the south and wet fields in the north.
Meat, sausages, and ciarcutterie are the stars of the culinary art of Huesca.

The sheep roast that takes the name of Origen “Ternasco de Aragon is one of the famous dishes of the whole region. Also relevant is moruga served here, which has become an indispensable ingredient to make the dish called ajoarriero Huesca (moruga, oil and garlic).

Another option is salmorrejo eggs (a dish made of eggs and meat for sausage).

As with cakes, marzipan and fruit pulp are to be recommended.

Excellent wines are produced in the province under the brand Appel Somontano.

This province has a wonderful craft tradition with rich and varied handicrafts.

The textile industries are in the San Juan Plan. The woodwork, well developed throughout the provinces, Ainsa, Gistain and Laspuna, are of boxwood, without giving rise to all sorts of tools. Labuerda is famous for the manufacturing of furniture and Sarinena for the development of barrels, among others things.

Finally, the development of sandals and boots in the municipalities of Barbastro Canfranc Eyerbe, Boltana and San Juan Plan, are beautifully crafted.
