Delhi – A City Where The Old And The New Harmonize

As the capital of India, Delhi is the second largest metropolis in India. Delhi is one of the fastest growing cities and has two separate parts – Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi consists of narrow busy streets but houses some beautiful old buildings and finest museums in the country. New one is a well planned city with tree lined spacious roads. Both Old and New Delhi offer a vibrant life being multicultural and multi-lingual – its history, architecture and beauty making it an important holiday destination.

Flights to Delhi are available from most parts of the world. The city is also well connected by air internally. Delhi air tickets can be bought online from any major airline. Besides reaching this city by air, one can also visit the city by train. A modern railway network is in place which links Delhi to several destinations in India. Deluxe buses also ply to/from this city linking the place to other big and small cities. However, with several local airlines offering budget air fares those who can, prefer to fly. As Delhi has extremes of climate November to March would be the best time to visit the city.

Well known sights to visit in this city are The Red Fort, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Lodi Garden, National Museum of Natural History, Humayan's Tomb, Jantar Mantar, National Zoological Park, and Rashtrapati Bhavan. One also needs to visit Connaught Place which is the business area consisting of an inner and outer circle. Janpath is an open-air shopping arrangement connecting the outer and inner circles of Connaught Place. There are also dozens of beautiful temples, mosques, churches and Gurdwaras that dot the city. For art lovers show can be booked at the Kamani Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lalit Kala Academy, Sri Ram Center for Performing Arts and India International Centre. Chandni Chowk is Delhi's oldest and busiest market, as also Asia's largest wholesale market. Some of the crafts being sold in Chandni Chowk can be dated back to what the Mughals used to buy and sell.

It has an eclectic mix of the modern and traditional. Bullock carts and the latest in cars can be seen moving along side by side on this city Roads. But Delhi can compare with any of the big world cities; it has a new international airport and a recently built metro rail which makes travelling within the city easy for the public. Moving around in this cityis easy, but one first has to reach there. So book your Delhi air tickets online and take your family for a great holiday in this amazing city.
