Did You Know About These Best Beaches in India?

The peninsular southern half of India has a coastline of whopping 6100km that runs along the three enormous water bodies of the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. This gives India a large number of beautiful beaches that could mesmerise the travellers and explorers hidden within all of us.

RADHANAGAR BEACH (ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS)

The Radhanagar Beach, is one of the best beaches in India is also ranked as the 7th best beach in the world by the Time Magazine. It is a traveller's paradise. The contrast of the blue water, white sand and the green forest lined by palm trees is a treat to the eyes. It is situated in the Havelock islands in Andaman. It has been drawing a decent crowd since it has earned the accolade. But a brisk walk down the beach could give you secluded, serene and pristine locations.

CANDOLIM (GOA)

To start a list on the beaches of India without naming one from Goa would be a blasphemy in the YOLO culture. The Candolim beach in this coastal state is a must visit if you want to get a glimpse of the party capital of India first hand. Situated close to the Aguada beach, Candolim has a tranquil and peaceful environment and hence attracts a number of tourists. The best time to visit this beach is during the winters.

VARKALA BEACH (KERALA)

Of all the best beaches in India, Varkala is an extremely pretty one. Situated in Kerala, it resembles the common scenery that most of us have drawn as a child. The rocky hills here are washed by the Arabian Sea and lined by palm trees. This beach has a paved footpath that traces the stretch of the rocky cliffs and has a number of shops, shacks, restaurants and hotels along it.

GANAPATIPULE BEACH (MAHARASHTRA)

Looking for an exotic holiday in India? Ganapatipule beach is the best option you have. It is still an unexploited beach that will give you unspoilt peace and respite from the daily humdrum of the urban life. Located a little more than 200kms from Mumbai, Ganapatipule is a good location for having a nice cosy weekend in. It is a place of religious importance too for the Hindus due to the presence of the Swayambhu Ganseh Temple.

CHANDIPUR BEACH (ODISHA)

Chandipur Beach is famous for its mysteriously disappearing sea. Here the sea recedes by as much as 5km during low tide. You can walk on the sea bed and explore what the water hides below its enormous blanket. The water returns during high tide and again regains it full enormity. It can be easily accessed from the town of Balasore that is 10km away.
