Discover Nainital Through Its Myths, Charms, And Enchanting Natural Flora

Nainital is one of the most visited hill stations in India. This Kumaon hill town has a breathtaking landscape and it finds its origin in facts that are mixed with myths. The Naini lake from where this hill station derives its name is said to have been created by three saints who formed a crater and poured holy water into it. The water is believed to have been taken from the sacred Mansarovar lake from Tibet, which itself holds its reputation as one of the greatest holy places. The trip to Nainital takes a drive of five to six hours from Delhi as the distance is less three hundred kilometers. The flora of the region is exquisitely lavish and the air quite refreshing. You would find several Nainital hotels located in the midst of the forests and you would eventually be surrounded by the Oaks and Pines and even rhododendrons, if you book yourself a cozy accommodation in one of these hotels. One particular aspect of hill stations is that the night appears amazingly mesmerizing and the starlit sky seems to hold a million bright and sparkling stones across its thin and dark cover.

Nainital Tourism

A hill station is the most preferred destination for newly-wed couples as the charm and chill of the hills and valleys is a perfect combination for a memorable experience. It is also a great place to be at during the summers when the mercury keeps soaring in most of the plains across India. A long vacation in the hills with your family certainly works as a proven cure against the high temperature. It also provides a time period of rejuvenation and refreshment as you breathe in the healthy and clean air of the sparsely populated hill region. Phrases like walking in the clouds and floating with joy literally come true as you enjoy to the fullest during your hotel stay and explore the nearby attractions.
There are a number of places to visit in Nainital and around. The Naini lake with the Naina Devi temple is one place where devotees go to worship the goddess. At Sonapaani Himalayan village, you would experience the rural aspects of the hills. Eco cave garden provide you with a glimpse into ecology and cave architecture. Unlike cities, experience the Nainital zoo that is nestled atop the heights of the mountains. If you are keen about some star gazing and planetary movements exclusive only to the astronomers, visit the Astronomical Observatory that offers a telescopic peek into the universe. Sonanadi Wildlife sanctuary is the place to visit if you are fond of wild animals and the zoo was not just enough for you. Shop at the Tibetan street markets which offer a number of souvenirs you can take home as a token of remembrance. Saria Tal is a place where you can just sit by the lake side and meditate or relax. If you have a knack for plants and herbs, the Himalayan Botanical Garden is the place you need to see. You would be delighted to know about some new plants. Explore the place as you like, but just make sure that you book your stay in one of the Nainital hotels in advance, to avoid any hassle in accommodation after you arrive.
