Dubai – A City That Does Everything to Its Full Potential

3. Bastakiya (old Dubai): Built in the late 19th century, the Bastakia Quarter was home to the rich Persian merchants who dealt in premium gems and stones. Occupying the eastern portion of Dubai along creek, the limestone buildings have been excellently preserved. A classic example of Arabian architecture, the narrow lanes reminisces the bygone age. You should certainly visit the Majlis Gallery with its collection of traditional Arab ceramics and furniture.

4. Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House: The house was built for the former ruler of Dubai who ruled the city for 5 years. A classic example of Arabian architecture, the museum shows the rich culture of the Arab city. Built in 1896 by Sheikh Saeed's father, the original house was demolished but the current house was rebuilt keeping the same style in mind. The museum showcases historical documents and photographs of Dubai from the period between 1948 and 1953, years when Sheikh Saeed ruled Dubai.

5. Dubai Creek: Separating the towns into two towns of Deira and Bur Dubai, Dubai Creek has been an influential element in city's growth. Attracting people for its fish and pearl dive, small villages grew up alongside the creek almost 4,000 years ago. Still used by small traders across the Gulf used The Dhow Wharfage along Dubai's Creek, dhows anchored here are well over 100 years old. However, if you want to see the cargo being loaded and unloaded of the Dhows you should visit this place.
