Egypt Pyramids – What You Should Know

The very first image that conjures in our mind when we think of Egypt is that of the majestic pyramids. Some people may not know that these pyramids of Egypt are the longest surviving manmade structures in the history. The truth is that, unlike most other structures, these pyramids have a longer survival history in BCE as compared to their life in CE. From the times unknown, these pyramids have remained a mystery unsolved. So much has been researched, read, and written about them but nothing is conclusive so far. The biggest experts are still baffled how these towering pyramids were created in the ancient times when there were no modern tools and implements. The huge blocks of bricks that were used to erect these structures were carried from far to Egypt and experts still wonder how that was made possible. Also, the motive behind the erection of pyramids is also quite unclear.

It is said that one must visit Egypt pyramids at least once in their lifetime. They continue to attract millions of visitors from all over the world every year. This is the reason why many travel companies offer tour packages so that one can see and marvel at these structures. While standing at the heels of these incredible structures, one must wonder as why they were built. Many archaeologists believe that the pyramids were the burial tombs for the emperors. The sarcophagi made of granite are quite a hint that they were being used for burials. Some experts say that no mummy or body was found inside the pyramids and hence they could not be the burial place. However, it is also true that these pyramids were subject to loot and many valuable items were taken. Coffins have been found inside the pyramids and they indicate that they could have been a burial place.

Even if one will visit Egypt pyramids several times, they will always wonder how they were really built. So much has been written about it but nothing has been conclusive so far. Experts from all over the world have written tons of books but there is no single point on which everyone would unanimously agree or even come close to an agreement. It is still a matter of wonder as to how the giant blocks of bricks were carried to Cairo and how they were laid one over the other. How did the people at that time learn such advanced engineering? Some people even say that the pyramids were constructed with the help of the aliens who had brought with them the heavy machineries. Some fiction writings have also depicted the use of giant creatures mammoth that carried the heavy blocks. However, nothing is certain for now.

How and why the pyramids were built continues to remain a mystery. However, there is one thing for sure. They are a great tourist destination. If one wants to enjoy the Egypt tour without any hassles, they must go for a tour package which includes trip to the pyramids.
