Enjoy a Premium Travelling Experience Even with Cheap Flight Tickets

There is a misconception among people that on booking cheap flight tickets, they will not be able to enjoy premium services on board. Most airlines classify their cabin in three classes – First, Business and Economy. The services and amenities offered on these are different and in general, the premium facilities like lounge and most comfortable seats are not offered on Economy Class. People can travel without these amenities on short journeys; however, for long journeys, these become almost a necessity. Upgradation is a smart technique that can be employed to avail the best benefits of air travel. Getting upgraded to a higher category is the best way to enjoy these premium comforts while making an Economy booking. There are some basic measures that can increase the chances of getting a upgraded seat on a flight.

Opt for Larger Aircraft
Travellers should check the aircraft being used on a route before making an online air ticket booking. Most airlines provide information about the model, which is to be used for a particular journey and the same is displayed on travel portals. Wide-bodied jets have more seat capacity and as a result, the number of seats in each class is high as compared to smaller aircraft. If a model has more seats, then the chances of upgradation for fliers increases for obvious reasons. Checking the aircraft and opting for bigger models, helps in upgradation.

Register on the Frequent Flyer Programs of the Favoured Carrier
Most airlines around the world have loyalty programs for benefit of those fliers who take their flights frequently. These frequent flyer programs are ways of getting more advantages while flying to several destinations. Registering for these is the best way to get upgraded during a journey. The crew members on a flight tend to select those members for upgradation, who have high points on their respective loyalty program. Furthermore, on qualifying a certain number of miles, travellers become Gold Class Members, which further increases their chances of getting promoted to an upper class during a trip.

Staying Away from Busier Airports Improves the Chance
The choice of airports is another important point to remember while opting for upgradation. Starting or ending a journey from a major hub or a busy airport can reduce the chances of getting promoted during a trip. This is simply because of the reason that such terminals witness a huge influx of passengers everyday. Simultaneously, the chance of flights having long-term members of frequent flyer programs increases. As a result of this, the chances of getting promoted becomes more remote. The best way to avoid this is by looking for smaller airports in the outskirts away from the main city. Travelling between smaller terminals is generally avoided by majority of the people, and the probability of getting upgraded increases.
