Sailing in a houseboat through the beautiful backwaters of Kerala is totally an exhilarating experience for the first timers. The houseboats are actually a modified version of kettuvallam that were earlier used to transmit tons of rice and spices from one place to another. Today, these boats are redesigned in to special rooms in order to provide comfort to tourists so that they can spend a quality time. Kerala mainly witnesses two rainy seasons that are the Southwest Monsoon in the month of June and Northeast Monsoon in the mid October.
