Everest Base Camp And Gokyo Lake Trekking

Everest Base Camp is most popular and favorite of many adventurers and travelers this world's highest and number one peaks stand at 8,848 m / 29,028 ft high, where every trekker dream to be on the foot of this giant mountain at base camp which is above 5,365 m high / 15,000 ft high, where you will standing below tumbling Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers.

During peak mountaineering season the place will be crowded with all colors of tents of Everest expeditions, where one view tips of Mt. Everest sandwiched between Lo-La and Lhotse including Mt. Nuptse.

The best views of Everest Base Camp is from high Kalapathar, a rocky hill top which is about two hours climb from the lodge at Gorakshep, a steep climb leads you at 5,545 m high with a breath-taking panorama of snow capped peaks with Mt. Everest at the closest within stone throw distance.

Gokyo Lake Valley is least trekked area but with commanding views above Namche Bazaar where route to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo separates, walking into serene and undisturbed areas, where walk climbs and follows Dudh Kosi river right up to its source at Ngozumba glacier around Gokyo valley with incredible views of high snow capped peaks and adding much heights a climb on top Gokyo Ri above 5,357 m high offers sensational panorama of world's highest four 8,000 meters mountains with 6th Mt. Cho-Oyu, 1st Mt. Everest, 4th Mt. Lhotse and the 5th Mt. Makalu towards east.

Around Gokyo where you can visit all its glacial simmering lakes including the 5th lakes located beneath Mt. Cho-Oyu with views of the south and north face of Everest and then one can either walk back to Lukla or continue walking towards Everest base camp via high Tsho (cho) la pass.

From Gokyo Lakes after an enjoyable and marvelous time, adventure continues to cross high Tsho (Chola) Pass of above 5,367 m high offering incredible views and then heading towards world's highest Mt. Everest Camp within remorseless fields of moraine, ice and glaciers with massive Khumbu Ice Falls.

Walk leads over moraine, ice above Khumbu glaciers to reach at Gorakshep the highest overnight stop at an altitude of 5,180 m high, located on a glacial valley with 4-5 nice lodges.

Gorakshep lies beneath Kalapathar and Pumori peak on route Everest base camp and it was an original base camp during 1950's to 1970's.

From Gorakshep adventure leads to Everest Base Camp at 5,367 m high, beneath towering South Face of Mt. Everest and Nuptse peaks, overlooking notorious Khumbu Ice Falls.

During April to May on peak season of mountaineering season to Everest and Lhotse this camp will be flooded with trekkers-climbers-porters and guides with colorful tents around this unique spot of ice and moraines, truly it looks like a Scout Jamboree.

Enjoying with wonderful moment another adventure leads you on top Kalapathar with mind blowing views of giant peaks with Everest at its closest with a stone throw distance; this will be the highest point of the adventure at 5,545 m high.
