Amsterdam Canals
The renowned canals were built during the 17th century to control the flow of the Amstel River and to add expanses of dry land to the beautiful city. The wealthy merchants of the city soon revealed that the canals were ideal for displaying their mansions as well. A boat ride along one of the Amsterdam's 100 canals offers visitors a soothing way to explore traditional Dutch architecture. Van Gogh Museum
Van Gogh Museum is located on the northwestern side of the Museum Square or Museumplein, the museum is home to the world's largest collection of the artist's paintings and letters. The mansion was designed by Gerrit Rietveld in the 1970s, it is housed in a four story building and is considered as one of the most prominent tourist attractions in Amsterdam.
Anne Frank House
It's one of the most sought after tourist attraction in Amsterdam, the Anne Frank Huis is located along the Prinsengracht Canal, the structure that once hid Anne Frank, her family and four other Jewish people from the Nazi authorities during the 2nd World War.
Begijnhof, Bloemenmarkt, Vondelpark, National Maritime Museum and De Wallen are some other ideal destinations to visit and explore in this beautiful city of Amsterdam.
