First Time to Book International Flight Use Travel Agent Online

One thing to always remember about booking international flights is that airfare quotes change minute to minute. A great price you found about an hour ago is probably gone now. It takes planning and research to book international flights. At times it can look like an impossible task especially if this is the first time you have done it. Just look at it as a new and exciting adventure.

First Time – Work with Online Travel Agent

If you have done online booking for flights in the United States, you might think that international booking could not be that hard! Think again you silly person! It is to your advantage to think about a travel agent if this is your first international flight. Agents at online travel services have the most up to date information on almost all international carriers. They can also advise you on any travel restrictions and also book your lodging and a rental car if you need one.

Consider Traveling Off-Season

If you have a choice when you can make this trip you might consider traveling in mid-winter or late fall which for international travel are the traditional off-seasons. Booking during these times not only can result in much lower tickets, there are also fewer hassles at international airports.

Research for Prices Should Be Done Early

Try to make your ticket research as early as you can so that there is plenty of time to shop around. You should compare prices at various online travel sites and also sign up for their automatic alert on fares that lets you know if the cost of your fare has changed.

Special Needs

When you do book also choose your seat, and make any arrangements for special needs such as wheelchair, pets, extra baggage etc. Also select your preferences for meals. No matter who you booked through, call the airline when taking care of these special arrangements. You can take care of these needs at the airport, but you will have few options and many surprises if you don't arrange every aspect of your travels in advance.

Check Policy Restrictions Carefully

Also check carefully policy restrictions as this will tell you if you cancel or change your flight just exactly who you need to call and if any fees will be charged.
