“There's now queerer than folk” is an expression which roughly translates as “some people are just plain bonkers”, and this applies to people everywhere, including people who book up vacation rental homes and choose exotic locations as their vacation destinations. The following statements and complaints are all true.
One couple had been told by the vacation rental home owner that there is a water park nearby, but when they got there they realized they were over-dressed since they had not brought their swim wear. They made a complaint insisting that they should have been told that they need to bring their swimming costumes and towels to this vacation destination. Another couple, on booking a beachfront vacation rental villa then complained that the beach was too sandy, even though the owner of the vacation rental villa had written on his listings that it was located on a sandy beach.
One man complained to the owner of their holiday rental home that he bought some Ray Bans from a street peddler for $5 only to then find out that they were fake. Another couple complained when they booked a holiday rental home near the sea. They took their kids for a swim but they found the sea was not the way they imagined it to be – it had fish in it. So, they naturally went back to their beautiful holiday rental home and complained to the owner because he had not pre-warned them.
Some people also complain because they feel their vacation rental home is not stocked up enough, like the man who complained because there was no egg slicer, and some are just too 'uninformed' (to put it kindly) to work out how things are supposed to work, like the family who complained because there was no air conditioning on the (outdoor) patio of their vacation rental villa.
And there are even complaints of the more sensitive nature, like the man who went on a safari during his honeymoon, saw an aroused elephant, and then complained to his vacation home owner that he now felt inadequate and that his honeymoon was now ruined. Another couple put in a complaint because the lady became impregnated, something that she blamed on the fact their bedroom has a double bed and not a twin.
But the best of the lot has to be the couple who complained because it took them longer to fly back to England from their Jamaican holiday rental home than it did for their friends to fly back to America, and the woman who booked into a hotel, saw a “do not disturb” sign on the back of her door, on the inside, and thought that it meant for her to stay in the room. She should have booked a holiday rental home, not a hotel.
