Goa – A Quaint Destination Full Of Medieval Era Remnants and Hottest Beaches

Owing to the Portuguese for its rich history and a vibrant culture, Goa, today is one of the best places to explore and experience foreign culture and its influences on the Indian soil. The Old Goa, situated just a few hours drive away from the state's capital, in particular is a large open-air depository of bungalows, churches, boulevards, cafes, monuments, etc. from the Portuguese era. It is quite an experience to walk down the tranquil palm trees-lined boulevards that pass through the quaint buildings, where you spot some cafes serving steak and fine wine. The old remains that reside here are collectively a UNESCO World Heritage Site; if one is in Goa, visiting the old ruins and weather-beaten buildings is a must-do. Besides, the lure of the old city is such that one simply cannot surpass the temptation to visit it. Some of the most revered and oldest churches, including Se Cathedral, which is the headquarter of the Archbishop of Goa, the Basilica of Bom Jesus Church that houses the relics of St. Francis Xavier, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi are situated here. The timeless part of Goa is indeed a gateway to the bygone era, and spending some time here, getting along with the locals, learning their legends and relishing their genuine hospitality – all sounds welcoming. Some say that it is the unique way of the locals spending their lives, whereas according to some it is bewitching essence of the good old days, that makes a backpacker excited about visiting Old Goa. Nonetheless, Old Goa is just one of the different allures of the state, and for a tourist it is a must-visit destination.

Goa Tourism

The other most popular aspect of Goa that is now a synonym of the place is it being the beach capital of India. Whenever there is a reference of the place, bohemian cloths, perfect sun-kissed beaches, cheap booze, laid-back life by the beaches, never ending fringes of palm trees, bustling Saturday night market, colorful shacks, etc. are the things that immediately strike the mind. They are undeniably the allures that make Goa tourism complete, and while you are here, you are expected to relish them. Anjuna, Calangute, Colva, Agonda, are to name some of the most popular beaches here. Although, finding tranquility at these beaches seems to be a vague idea for the fact that these beaches remain filled with tourists and locals alike. However, tourists who find solace in the crowd and crave some of the best seafood by the seashore, spending a couple of hours at the beaches is advisable. Besides, there are chances to find tranquility at the beaches like Palolem, Anjuna, and Arambol in the wee hours after 10 p.m. While you are relishing a carefree holiday at the beaches, make sure that you visit one of the silent parties that are organized in the Palolem Beach. Everyone is given a headphone where they can tune in to different stations and let loose in the beats that they love.
There are several other allures and tourist attractions to relish and you have to be in the state to relish them all. The good thing is accessing Goa is easy. All of the major cities are equipped with railway stations with a good frequency of trains like Hyderabad to Goa train, Mumbai to Goa train, Bangalore to Goa train etc. to serve them.
