Guide to Discover The Location Your Train

So, it becomes very essential to know about the location of the train at a given time so that one can plan the journey accordingly. Thanks to latest development of the Indian Railways over the years, you no longer have to wonder whether your train is running late or how much time you have to reach the station or get to the train. Center of Railway Information Systems has given the public the facility of online enquiry portal where one can easily check the status of the desired train from any place. Given below are the guidelines for spotting any kind of train:

1. Firstly, you must have a stable internet connection on your device such as a Smartphone/tablet, etc.
2. You can directly access the website enquiry.indianrail.gov.in or you can install application named NTES on your IOS or Android devices from App Store or play store respectively.
3. After going to the above mentioned link, you will be directed to the home page of the portal. Various options will appear for you, which are listed below-

i. Spot your train

ii. Live Station

iii. Train schedule

iv. Rail between stations Cancelled trains

v. Diverted trains

vi. PNR status

4. Now, you have to click on the first option that is 'Spot your train', then you will be directed to a new window which has three options

a. Rail number/ Rail name- In this, you have to put the rail number or the rail name for e.g. Swaran Shatabdi express Train number 12013.

b. In the second column, you have to choose your journey station or the desired station you want to see the arrival or departure time of the train and on which platform it is arriving etc.

c. On which day you wish to see the status of the Rail- yesterday, today or for tomorrow- mainly today's train location is required and rest two are options only required to see the possibility of whether the train can be delayed or diverted due to fog, accident, etc.

d. After filling all the details, click on the Show Status button. You can see now the train number, journey station which you have selected, time of arrival, journey date, the time of scheduled arrival, expected arrival, scheduled departure and at what time departure is expected. You can also see if there is any delay in departure from the station i.e. by how much time it is delayed and finally you will see the last location from which the train is departed with the time mentioned of departure

In this way, you will be constantly updated the location and time of the Running railway. Next time you don't need to worry about missing your Rail ever again because you can spot your running train that easily and conveniently.
