Gurgaon – Industrial and Shopping Hubs

Gurgaon's incredible transformation into an industrial and entertainment hub is a reflection of young, modern-day aspirational India. Gurgaon is home to countless shopping malls and countless big-ticket retail outlets, fine-dining spaces, and of course several industries. Some of the biggest firms in business have made Gurgaon their home. There are many BPO and IT firms here and lakhs of executives have made this city their home or fly in and out quite often.

Economic hub

There are many well-known manufacturing units in the region including automobiles, hardware, consumer durables, and textiles, among others. The region contributes over 40 pc to the economy of Haryana, thanks to its big industries and retail outlets. Gurgaon is also a favoured hub for those looking to make investments, from real estate to business. If you happen to be in Gurgaon on one of those business trips, there are many fun things you can do, when you get time off from your meetings.

Mall hopping

You could try mall hopping, for there are plenty of glitzy ones in Gurgaon which cater to a variety of needs, from books and clothes to traditional crafts and branded products. But if shopping is not exactly your cup of tea, there are entertainment opportunities in plenty. They include:

  • Kingdom of Dreams: It is a leisure and entertainment hub with a carnival-like atmosphere. You can watch extravagant musicals at the Nautanki Mahal, or visit the Culture Gully, which has many pavilions, themed restaurants, arts and crafts villages.
  • Iskate: If you love skating, this is indeed the place for you. You can slate on ice, enjoy some dancing, or grab at a bite at one of the outlets here. The skating rink is located inside the Ambience Mall.
  • Oysters Water Park: If you have kids accompanying you on a visit to Gurgaon, there can't be a better place than Oysters Water Park for them to spend a day. There are thrilling rides for you such as 'Wave Pool', 'Sky Fall' and 'Oh My Gurgaon' to experience and enjoy. When you need to recharge your batteries and enjoy a meal or grab some chaat, there is a nice food court to suit a variety of tastes.
  • Fun 'N' Food Village: As the name suggests, the place is ideal if you want to enjoy a fun-filled day. The 'village' is actually an amusement and water park, and has many water slides and rides. It is also home to a snow park.

There are also several parks, galleries and museums such as the Vintage Camera Museum, the Heritage Transport Museum and Stellar Children's Museum you can visit.
