Himachal Pradesh A Paradise on Earth

Also referred to as the Land of God or the Dev Bhoomi, Himachal Pradesh is one of the most beautiful states in India. It is bordered by Punjab on the West, Jammu and Kashmir on the North, Uttaranchal on the east and Uttar Pradesh on the South. The meaning of the word Himachal is “Adobe of Snow”. The capital of Himachal Pradesh is Shimla, which is one of the most important and popular hill stations in India. Besides, Palampur is another hill station which receives a lot of tourist attractions. The state of Himachal Pradesh has endless natural beauty to offer and no wonder why every year thousands of tourists from all over the world come to visit the Himachal.

The Topography and the Climate

The major land mass of Himachal Pradesh is mountainous and has deep valleys, lofty ranges, beautiful waterfalls. It is filled with lush greenery everywhere. When it comes to the climate, it varies from one part of the state to another. Some places remain heavy rainfall throughout the year while there are some areas which remain absolutely dry. Snowfall during the winters is quite common in most areas of the state as it is located a very high altitude from the sea level.

Chamba: This an extremely beautiful and attractive town, located on the lap of the Himalayas.

Rohtang Pass: This place is located at a distance of 50 km from Manali; another important hill station in the country. This place has an endless supply of natural beauty

Kangra: Apart from being a very beautiful place, Kangra also attracts many devotees from all over the countries as it has numerous temples and places of worship

Shimla: Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and has been one of the most popular hill stations of India since the British period. This place has an excellent climate and contains few marvelous relics from the British days in India.

Kullu: One of the most attractive valleys located on the lap of the Himalayas. It is another important tourist destination in the state of Himachal Pradesh
