Hosts of Hana Oceanfront Cottages

Dan and Sandi Simoni are your hosts at Hana Oceanfront Cottages offering two of Hana's most beautiful vacation homes in East Maui. We are San Francisco transplants that fell in love with Hana, Maui, Hawaii about thirty years ago on our first trip to the islands. Hana is very remote and back in the 1980's a bit of a challenge to get to, but it is very beautiful and serene. When we visited finding a Hana vacation rental, a B&B, or any type of Hana accommodations was challenging as there was only one Hotel in Hana and very pricey for a young couple. We did find a small vacation condo and spent the night and vowed that we would return for a longer stay.

As the years went by Dan and I came to Hawaii often and each time spent more time in the Hana area as we loved the opportunity to take great hikes, swim under waterfalls, snorkel, swim at secluded beaches and enjoy all the eco tourism that Hana had to offer. We did finally meet up with one gentleman who offered a variety of vacation homes in the Hana area. Some were rooms in his home, set up like a B&B and other were just vacation rentals but very few were oceanfront vacation homes or rentals. Coming such a long way our goal was always to find an oceanfront home to rent, or at least some sort of vacation rental with an ocean view and near one of the spectacular beaches in the area.

During a trip in 1997 our destiny changed on one of our visits to the Hana area. We were staying at a small Hana vacation rental about a five minute drive to Hamoa Beach and discovered that there was an oceanfront vacant lot for sale with direct access to one of the best beaches in all of Hawaii, Hamoa Beach. We fell in love with the property and asked ourselves how could we make a living in such a remote area, and the answer came to us, build oceanfront accommodations in Hana Cottages that offer incredible views, with direct access to the beach and offer the best tropical vacation retreat properties. We figured that this was the perfect nitch market and could work in this small community, with only one Hotel in town, one small condo vacation project, and just a handful of vacation home rentals, and just a few other Hana accommodations.

We built our dream home and opened for business and have loved living our dream since. If you make it out to Hana please come by and say “Aloha” or better yet come and stay at one of the most beautiful vacation rentals in all of Hana. Oceanfront accommodations at their finest!
