How to Grab The Best Deals on Airfares

Travelling has become a part and parcel of our lives in this fast-paced world. All travelers desire to travel cheap, whether for business or leisure. One definitely needs to understand the dynamics of pricing in order to suit their budget. If booked intelligently, you can find reasonably priced tickets which won't burn a hole in your pocket. Keeping a few tips in your mind will surely help you save some money on the air fare.

  1. Plan in Advance: You must book your air tickets well in advance so that you get cheaper fares. Plan your trip and make the booking at least six weeks prior to get the benefit.
  2. Round Trip bookings: Booking round trip tickets will help you save further on the air fares as they are cheaper than one way tickets. Also, if you are travelling in a group, then book all the tickets together rather than making separate bookings.
  3. Be Flexible and smart: Keep your dates flexible so that you can compare the prices and book the cheapest flight. Off-season flights are cheaper than those in peak holiday season. Flights on weekdays are less expensive than the weekend flights. Also, the flights at non-rush hours i.e. early mornings and late nights cost you lesser.
  4. Online Agents: There is also an option to book your air tickets through Online Travel Agents or OTAs. They understand the nuances of airline ticketing and can help you get a good deal. You need to keep in touch with them regularly since great deals sell like hot cakes and are over even before you know it.
  5. Special discounts and programmes: You may get special discounts offered by reliable travel portals if you make your payment through credit or debit cards. There are also loyalty and frequent flier programmes which the airlines offer. Make a note to check for these as well.
  6. Last minute deals: In case you have to travel in an emergency, you must check out the last minute discounts. These are given by the airlines to fill their vacant seats, so that they don't incur a loss due to unsold tickets on the flight.

Finding the prices of your choice does involve some work and planning. The above mentioned tips can help you get the cheapest airline fares and save some cash which could be utilized on your trip for enjoyment or shopping. Wish you a happy travel!
