How to Save Money on Flight Tickets Booking?

A frequent traveler could end up spending lakhs of rupees annually on their flight tickets booking. Even if you are not a frequent traveler, it could cost you thousands of rupees to book just a single air ticket. In fact, if you are traveling with your family or friends, the costs could account for the largest chunk of your traveling cost. How will you save money on your airfares? The following guide will help you in this regard.

The first strategy is for air ticket booking is to choose connecting flights, whether traveling domestic or internationally. Relative to direct flights, connecting flights are usually cheaper. However, the options will depend on the connecting time.

If you are traveling, it will also have certain visa requirements for the transit duration. However, if your connecting time is of not more than 2 to 3 hours and there is no need for a transit visa, this is an effective strategy.

Secondly, you should check for inaugural flights. Such flights are mostly cheaper for almost a month after the date of inauguration. Therefore, check for any new airline or a new route launched by an existing airline. The amount of money you could save on such flight tickets booking could be almost 50%.

Because you cannot keep checking for all this information on a regular basis, a good thing to do is to sign-up for newsletters of airlines and travel sites. All the leading airlines are increasingly becoming internet savvy and allow people to subscribe to their newsletters.

If you can be flexible with your travel dates, you will again be able to save a lot of money. This is usually possible for people going on holidays. Try to make adjustments to the departure and arrival dates by just a few days. There are always cheaper air tickets one or more days away. Keep in mind that cheaper flights are usually available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while Sundays and Fridays are costlier.

At the same time, if you are traveling during the festive season, you should either consider not traveling or perform flight tickets booking carefully. This is a typical time when the airfares are the highest but there are many discounts as well. You have to keep your eyes open for these discounts to help save the most.

Before you book air tickets, make sure to look at different online sites. Check a minimum of 3 sites before you book your flight. It is possible that many travel sites may not include those low-cost airlines, which means you will have to visit the sites of those airlines.

The airfares from such airlines could be far lower, saving you thousands. Use these tips and you could end up saving a lot on your overall traveling plan, whether you are a once-in-a-year traveler or a frequent flier.
