Important Credit Cards For Overseas Travel

Traveling outside USA is different from domestic travel. So beware to select credit card for your overseas travel. While choosing credit cards for international trips, their costs, security, convenience, and rewards must be considered.

COST: – Always try to select zero international transaction charges card. Simply there is no reason to pay an extra 2-3% on purchase during overseas travel. There is no shortage of good cards available that don't charge any surcharge.

SECURITY:-Nowadays all credit cards are featured with EMV technologies adding both security and convenience. All foreign companies accept chip and pin cards for payment. This become standard worldwide, so you may as well get alert for your own security and to avoid having your cards declined when traveling outside the U.S.

CONVENIENCE:-Be smart to use MasterCard or Visa because they are accepted worldwide. Even if you have an American Express card, it is smart to carry a Visa or MasterCard as backup, for a reason if you met “No American Express here, please”.

REWARDS:-It's not necessary that reward cards be full of money. There are lots of cards that offer rebate on airline hotel and cash back on purchase and are without annual fees. Whether cardholders get reward points on their every spent or get some cash back or rebate that fills the bill.

There is no “perfect” singe card for overseas travel for travelers. But depending on needs and travel purchase behavior some are well worth considering. These credit cards are featured with EMV chip and free from foreign transactions charges.

1.Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is a reliable choice for overseas travel, featuring no foreign transaction fees with $95 annual fee. Cardholders earn 2 points per $1 on travel and dining expenses, and 1 point per $1 for other purchases. When redeemed for travel through the points are worth 1.25 cent per piece. Points may also be redeemed for gift cards or cash. In addition points may be converted 1:1 to miles or points in seven airline programs and hotel programs.

2.Citi/AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard- A best card for which travelers looking for corresponding highly annual fee. This card is linked to American's AAdvantage program, where miles may be earned and redeemed.

3.Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature card- This is flat rate cash back card with annual fee 1% of rewards and it rebate 2% on all purchase like flights, travel and dinning.

4.Citi Double Cash card- Another flat rate card is also very demanding due its best features. It encumbered with foreign-transaction fees and offer 2% rebate on all purchases.

5.Capital One Quick silver Cash Rewards credit card- This one is a solid cash back MasterCard demanding more among overseas travelers. It offers a 1.5 percent cashback rebate on all purchases, without any annual fee.
