One of the main National Parks, the identity of Jim Corbett National Park is associated with a British Conservationist and Naturalist of the same name. The extinction figures of tiger, forced government to take a major rescue step – Project Tiger and this national park was the first place to host the project tiger. These include -elephants, sloth bears, languor, rhesus macaques, peacocks, chital (spotted deer), sambas, and barking deer, leopards, crocodiles, gharries, monitor lizards, wild boars and jackals.

There are actually five entry gates to the Jim Corbett National Park namely Jhirna, Durga Devi, Sitabani, Bijrani and Dhangari. By Air

The nearby airport is Pantnagar. The National Park can be easily reached through a hired cab or taxi from the airport. The place is well connected to different airports of Delhi, Dehradun, Lucknow and Chandigarh.

By Railway

Ramnagar Railway Station is the nearest and is connected to all major railway stations across the country. The distance to Jim Corbett is around 11 kms.
