Kanpur – A Modern City With The Best of By-Gone

Kanpur, dubbed as the industrial capital of Uttar Pradesh, is a major city in the state. It is not just big in terms of industry and commerce, but is also big in terms of population. It ranks 10th in the list of top populated cities in India. It is primarily a growing city with increasing number of industries, businesses, manufacturing plants, and others. Textile and leather are the two prime industries in the city. Apart from these, fertilizer, chemicals, soaps, engineering, two-wheeler, and pan masala are the other major industries in Kanpur. A recent addition to the city's virtues of fame is IIT Kanpur. It is one of the best engineering educational institutes in India and is part of the university that are recognized all over the world.

Being a major commerce city, Kanpur is complete with all pleasures and comforts of urbanization. Making one's trip convenient and pleasant are the good 3 Star hotels in Kanpur. The climate of Kanpur is something that needs to be checked before heading to the city. Kanpur is known to receive the extremities of weather. The temperature goes from hot to hotter in summer and from cold to colder in winters. Months through October to November and February to March are considered to be the best for the tour of the city. However, if one is heading to the city for business or work related purposes, there is no particular season to visit Kanpur.

Well laid-out roads connects the city from within and to all major cities in the nation. The Jhakarkati Bus Station is the major bus junction in the city. Besides, the Kanpur Central is the main and largest railway station that is served by frequent-regular trains from all across the nation. For those taking the flights, there are two good airports in the city, namely Kanpur Civil Airport and IIT Kanpur Airport.

The city is also evenly patched by several gardens, meadow avenues, lakes, and temples. There are plenty of religious sites and temples in the city offering those with religious blend of mind, the opportunity to meditate and spend few moments in tranquillity. Jain Glass Temple, Dwarkadhish Temple, Kanpur Memorial Church, Mecca Masjid, and Shri Radhakrishna Temple find most prominence and reverence in the city. Furthermore, the other must visit places in the city include: Bithoor, Boodha Bargad, Jajmau, Agricultural Gardens, Phool Bagh, Nana Rao Park, Allen Forest Zoo, Jungle Water Park, Sports Village, Moti Jheel, Siddhant Ghat, and Sarsaiyya Ghat.

There also exist a good range of hotels in Kanpur. The amenities replete luxury hotels in particular are worth mentioning. In addition to offering a content stay, these hotels go extra mile and provide some additional services, like helping with the tour of the city, airport/train transfer etc. However, there also exist the cheap hotels and lodges that are best for a brief journey of the city.
