Honeymoon is the best phase of one's life. It is a short stint but one so chaste that romance could never find a better opening chapter. It is the innocence in the banters and the thrill of discovering each other which makes a honeymoon such a warm period of matrimonial journey. Hence, the destination you choose must be something which can live up to the billing. Kerala, by far, is one of the best honeymoon places in India. It is a dream to find yourself floating over the houseboats on the backwaters of this state.

Known worldwide as 'God's Own Country', Kerala featured in National Geographic's elite list of best places on Earth. It also forms the warm settings for the award-winning novel 'God of Small Things' by Arundhati Roy.

Though the state is small in size as compared to the rest of Indian states, it packs a lot of punch and is replete with attractions.

One of the best places to visit in Kerala would be Alleppey or Alappuzha. It has a lyrical charm of its own. Riding on the waves of its lagoons and lakes, this backwater-filled destination is the real stuff dreams are made of. Cheap tour packages to Alleppey are almost always available. There are houseboat races to be seen, fishes to be caught, fishermen to be silently observed and Ayurveda to be indulged in.

Cochin is another city which has made Kerala extremely proud. It is a town which lies somewhere between a 20th century village and a 21st century metro city. It is neither here nor there. Though it has all the facilities to match the ones presented by your Mumbai, Delhi or Chennai, it still lingers behind the smell of its old forts and seems to invite the honeymooners to its medieval churches and virgin beaches. For many, Cochin is amongst the best honeymoon places in India. And we dare not disagree!

Munnar is another destination which gives Kerala the well-deserved tag of a honeymooner's paradise. Munnar is in contrast with Cochin or with Alleppey. While Cochin revels in its forts and beaches, and while Alleppey flirts with its lagoons, Munnar whispers behind your neck with its cool hilly breeze. It is a hill station and has an extremely friendly weather. With tea plantations matted all over the hill and some appealing attractions and soothing ambience, Munnar is a place you just need to capture in your memories.

Cheap tour packages to Kerala are on the offering. Make sure that you latch on to one.
