Kg. Kedamaian, Kota Belud. – White Water Rafting

Imagine yourself arrived at a place where you do not familiar, but you realize the first things in your mind just stunned with the clear water from the river and sound of the nature of the place. It is not my first time see the river and do rafting activities. But I can tell you, there are something more special and exciting things from this place.

Mount Kinabalu

We depart from Kota Kinabalu around 8.30 am with total about 30 peoples from different travel agency that existing in Kota Kinabalu as MATTA Sabah member join this fam trip. Along the way to Kota Belud which the region that we been told to visit one of the new attraction there, we pass few small town, hills and paddy field. I would say, it is such a very beautiful view as you know you are out from busy hectic city. Around 5KM from Kota Belud town, you can see the big river and the majestic view of Mount Kinabalu and villages. I love this feeling! Where you can see new places, new peoples and you felt like coming home. Because I grew up in the village and I love being known as village girl.

Arrived at the place (Kg.Kedamaian) we warmly welcomed by COO of the Xtreme Paddlers Mr. Andrey Adriano and his wife Mrs Ann Osman. Before all of the members plunge on the raft, we were served high tea and Mr Andrey gave us some briefing about the safety throughout the 10KM journey of our rafting. We being told that the river level in there are 1&2, but all I can tell you the exciting of seeing the white clear river. We divided into 5 groups where one raft can accommodate 6 people, so grab the paddles and helmets and ready to go wild in the kedamaian river! Trust me, this place are very peaceful and full with natures and the right place to release your stress.

Along the way with the effort of rowing our rafts to get past the torrent, we also enjoy the beauty of the beautiful jungle and see some of the nearby villages along our way. As per told from our instructor, in one place where in between the river from Kg.Malangkap and river kedamaian we supposed can see the Mount Kinabalu. Unfortunately, that day the weather is not so good and a bit cloudy and we can not see the mountain. But still, it did not broke our excited on discover and enjoy our rafting. We very enjoy our rafting to one place where we were at strong currents we could not control and rather to balance our raft so all of us fell in the river. It is awesome to get wet! I love this adventures feeling.

We were blessed because about 2 KM before reach our ending point, the rain pouring yet we still feel great. The sound that our group make ‘uli uli uli’ as sound to tell others group be hind us that we safely arrived and end our rafting.

This fam trip not only to know this new place but also can get acquainted other members of tourism friends and member of MATTA Sabah. I really depreciate this opportunity, getting to know some of awesome and respectful people along this trip is one of the blessing. Thanks to MATTA Sabah for organized this fam trip.
