Las Vegas Grand Canyon Spring Break Airplane Tours

Have you been looking forward to spring break? Don't let your holiday plans fall flat, and instead choose a holiday activity that will really allow you to let loose and enjoy yourself. From Las Vegas, you can tour the breathtaking Grand Canyon, and there are affordable airplane tours ready to be booked today.

Two Unique Canyon Regions

When you fly from Vegas, you're not just limited to the nearby West Rim. You can also to choose to fly out to the South Rim, which is accessed from the town of Tusayan in Arizona. Flying to the South Rim takes around 60 minutes by airplane, which is pretty amazing considering that the drive there would take a few hours.

The South Rim is known for being less crowded than the West Rim, so if you want to enjoy the scenic beauty in relative peace and quiet, then this is the place to go. When you choose an airplane tour, the complete package can include a bus tour through the National Park. The bus tour is two and a half hours long, and will take you to all of the best sites inside the park. The whole tour package is almost 10 hours in total, including the pickup and drop off back to your hotel. As well as the scheduled tour, you will be able to explore the tourist village, where you can grab a bite to eat, or pick up some authentic Grand Canyon souvenirs.

If you're looking for even more adventure, then you can also take a helicopter tour over the South Rim. In fact, the South Rim tour will go to the North Rim, and back again. If you want something even longer, then there's a 50 minute tour that also goes out to the eastern boundary of the park. This is the most comprehensive helicopter tour available at the Grand Canyon, and it allows you to see over 75% of the National Park grounds. A highlight of the South Rim is the Dragoon Corridor. It's the deepest and widest stretch of the Canyon, and your helicopter will fly right through it.

If you want to fly a little closer to Vegas, then you will enjoy the West Rim. It only takes around 30 minutes to get out there by airplane.

Sightseeing at the West Rim

When you fly out to the West Rim, you will be able to spend 2.5 hours exploring the walking tracks and lookout points along the top of the rim. There's plenty of hiking for people of all levels, just make sure that you dress for the weather, and bring some comfortable walking shoes. The West Rim is also home to the world famous Skywalk, the glass and steel platform that extends over the edge of the Canyon. It will have you standing above 4000ft of open air, and is a great opportunity for a professional photograph to be taken of you standing above the Grand Canyon.

Like the South Rim, there are also helicopter tours available. The best one is a helicopter that will take you inside of the Canyon, and set you down next to the Colorado River. You can even upgrade your ticket to include a boat ride, for the full experience.

Book Early!

The Canyon will be extremely popular during Spring Break, so make sure that you book your tickets early. You should book at least two weeks prior to the day that you want to fly, to avoid any disappointment. Book online with a credit card, because that's where the best deals are found, and that way you will avoid missing out on tickets.

Conclusion

If you've been wondering what you should do this Spring Break, I hope that this article has given you plenty to get excited about. If you're going to the South Rim, I recommend that you add the longer helicopter tour that covers the eastern park boundary. At the West Rim, the bottom landing tour is definitely a highlight. Whatever you choose, have fun, and enjoy the most beautiful National Park that North America has to offer.
