Luton to Gatwick

The Luton airport is located in the London borough of Luton, Bedfordshire, to the north of Central London. It is London's fourth largest and busiest airport. The airport serves over 10 million passengers every year. Gatwick is UK's second largest and busiest international airport. More than 30 million passengers travel through the airport every year. The airport is located at West Sussex and is about 28 miles away from the London city. Passengers can use coaches, buses, trains or private taxis to travel from the airport to other key areas of the city. The distance between the two airports is 70 miles.

The National Express Coach

The National Express Coach is the most popular way to travel from the Luton to Gatwick as it is the only direct link between the two airports. It takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to travel from Luton to Gatwick and is not the fastest way to travel between the two places. However the National Express Coach is safe and a cheap option than other airport transfers. The coach services both the South and North Terminal. Alternatively some passengers take the National Express Coach to the Victoria station in Central London and then take the Gatwick Express to the Gatwick Airport.

Trains

Thameslink Trains connects Luton to Gatwick directly. However there is no train station at the Luton. Passengers are required to take a shuttle from the airport to the train station. The travel time between the two airports is about 80 minutes. The frequency of these trains is 15 minutes and is however lesser during the late hours of the night. Trains are the fastest way of travelling between the two airports.

Taxis and minicabs

The most recommended means of transport for tourists to reach the Gatwick from the Luton is by hiring a licensed taxi or a minicab. Taxi services work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While public transport means are restricted by time curfews, these private taxi services cater to our needs even during the late hours of the day. One major advantage of these taxis and minicabs is that the drivers are very knowledgeable and are well versed with the traffic situations of the city. They ensure that you reach your destination in the safest and swiftest way.
