Luxury Vacation Apartments in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, with its population of about 13 million people, is the capital of Argentina. It is not part of any province, but is an autonomous city. Within its city limits lie the towns of Flores and Belgrano. It is considered by many to be the South American city with the most European flavour. Its architecture is eclectic, but mostly impressive Spanish Colonial and charming French. The buzz of hot blooded Latin American nightlife, vibrant big city exhilaration, and wide tree-lined boulevards and sidewalk cafes make a really interesting blend. Excitement, energy and smooth sophistication; there are few better starting off points for your tour of South America. Luxury vacation apartments in Buenos Aires are also ideal home bases where you can recover your strength in utter comfort before setting out on your next adventure. Whether you are thinking of buying property or having unforgettable luxury Buenos Aires vacations, you will find a wide variety of options in Buenos Aires real estate.

As far as luxury tours of Buenos Aires are concerned, there are a great many short day trips in and around the city. There are very short and longer city sight-seeing trips, some in coaches and some on foot. Some include a lunch in top restaurants.

Then, of course you can venture out on longer guided tours lasting days or weeks, to explore the rest of Argentina as well as other South American countries.

A very popular short cruise across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires takes you to a magical little town called Colonia. Its full name is Colonia del Sacramento. It is actually not in Argentina at all but part of Uruguay. It is a delightful day trip from Buenos Aires. Colonia is a UNESCO Heritage Site; really worth seeing, if you want an idea of what an early Portuguese settlement in South America looked like.

For the energetic ones, there are walking or cycling tours, or you can go out into the pampas and see how the gauchos live and experience their traditions for a day. Gauchos are traditional Argentinian cowboys.

Polo is a national sport in Argentina and some of the finest polo players come from this country. Around Buenos Aires there are no fewer than 7 polo clubs. The oldest polo tournament in the world is held here. In October 2010 was the 117th Hurlingham Club Open Championship.

If you want to see something really wacky and way out, try the 'Lucha de Almohadas' [International Annual Pillow Fight]. This year it was held over the Easter weekend. There were literally hundreds of people taking part all at once!

On a saner level, at night there are nightclubs, tango shows and jazz clubs. Every kind of interest and entertainment typically available in any of the world's great cities is catered for in Buenos Aires too, so I just selected a very few of the less usual and even unique activities that you can include in one of your luxury tours, Buenos Aires. Do your homework well and find out everything there is to see. Enjoy the vacation of a lifetime!
