Let you know a few things about Orient Express' luxurious Northern Belle train. No matter how you look at it, there's something ineffably strange about taking a trip on the Orient Express. A luxury train that lets passengers experience the ambiance of Britain's 1930s rail travel. Northern Belle features hand-crafted carriages and travels through the countryside as passengers savor fine cuisine and wine. It is the sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient Express and reflects the style of 'Belle' trains and the Pullman carriages of the famous train. Passengers can travel in one of seven beautifully detailed carriages, each bearing the name of a great British castle or stately home. The onboard cuisine is created using locally sourced ingredients and paired with fine wines and Champagne.
With the demand ever increasing as people continue to discover the joys of leisurely rail travel, Duart is a welcome addition to the Northern Belle. The new carriage can accommodate 24 passengers, taking the total number of seats on board to 276, and will be located at the end of the rake, making it ideal for groups, parties, and weddings who may wish to book the entire carriage.
Northern Belle's every car is named after a different English castle and every car is subtly unique, with individual colors applied to the seat upholstery and carpets, and their own marquetry designs, provided by a family firm with over a century's lineage. The cars are actually re-engineered models of older trains, convincing replicas of the pre-war lookers for which the Orient Express is justly famed. In general, they have a lighter design than the cars used on the Venice Simplon Orient Express. Apparently, they are fitted out with 800-year-old oak panels, inset with walnut, boxwood, anagre, satinwood, and maple.
