Mistakes to Avoid When Packing For Cruises From Sydney

Packing for cruises can be a real challenge. Even if you are a seasoned cruiser, you may still find yourself making the mistake of leaving vital items behind or packing everything you own. So, here are some of the worst mistake you should avoid when you are preparing for your cruise.

Not Plastic Bagging Liquids:

When packing for cruises from Sydney, you are likely to find that you have an abundance of liquids, gels, and creams. From sunscreen to shampoo, these liquids are vital for your trip but can be troublesome and messy. It is always a good idea to ensure that you put anything that has the potential to spill into a plastic bag. However, you can also take this one step further to ensure that the bag is well padded within your suitcase. If your case gets handled a little too roughly, you don't want to end up with a bag of goop.

Not Bringing the Right Shoes:

When you imagine yourself enjoying Sydney cruises, you may see yourself barefoot on the deck or wearing a great pair of sandals, but this may not be the right footwear choice. When taking harbour cruises, Sydney visitors often forget that there is the potential for a great deal of walking. While your sandals may feel comfortable for an hour or so, they may feel like a torture device after you have climbed the 1000 plus steps of the Harbour Bridge. However, remember that you only have a certain amount of cabin space, so don't be tempted to pack your entire shoe collection.

Not Considering Wrinkles:

Most Sydney cruises are quite casual, so you need to consider whether your clothing items will need to be ironed. Although some cabins may have an iron, you need to ask yourself whether you want to spend your time ironing before you go out. It is far better to bring items of clothing that are less susceptible to wrinkling and can be worn straight away.

Overpacking:

Finally, you need to consider whether you are overpacking. Even if your cabin has a large wardrobe, do you really need a separate outfit for every day? Most days on the water, you are likely to be very casual, and you can mix and match things for any shore excursions. Overpacking can not only take up space in your cabin, but it can create stress for your holiday. So, take a breath and ask yourself whether you really need to bring five pairs of shoes.
