Now Enjoy Wonderful Sea Views From Hydra Greece

Hydra Greece is the most popular Saronic Island that is located in the Aegean Sea. Separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strip of water, the island is known as Hydra that has a reference to the springs on the island. It is a beautiful island that lies between the island of Spetses and Porosand. The place attracts lots of tourists from all over the world due to its extremely picturesque beauty, full of red tiled houses and narrow alleys. Hydra Greece used to be the destination of fashionable artist during the sixties. It consists of a crescent shaped harbor and there are numerous restaurant, markets, shops, galleries that cater to the various needs of the tourists as well as the locals.

Hydra Greece is about 45 miles from Athens and today it is one of the most cosmopolitan points in the Mediterranean region. It enjoys a unique natural beauty and its historical architecture has raised the level of the island to an international tourist's center. Tourists can visit this place for a vacation. The coasts are rocky and mostly abrupt and there are few sandy beaches. The main town is built around the main harbor that is lined up with small yachts, traditional caicques and fishing boats.

The area has a total population of about 3000 but it swells to 6000 during the tourist season. The interior of the town is nearly uninhabited. Hydra Greece has a very extraordinary architecture. You will find cascading whitewashed homes, gray stone mansions, brightly colored windows that were built in the 18th century wealthy merchants. Most of the island mansions are restored and several museums and galleries are opened for public viewing.

Hydra is surrounded by the sea that is deep, cool and clear. The swimming areas in Hydra are mostly located in the rocks lining the island's coast. The main bathing areas include Spilia and Hydronetta and there are some pebble beaches that are about 15 minutes from the main town. Tourists can enjoy the rich history and culture by visiting the island's museums, galleries, mansions, churches and monasteries. They can also browse the boutiques and gold shops or enjoy the quiet and traditional tavern meal in any of the neighboring villages.

Visitors who are willing to stay for few days can make their bookings into hotels or private houses or villas and the accommodations are budget friendly offering a comfortable stay during the vacation.
